WHILE EARNING A LIVING

Not all Electricians are created equal. Many attempt to become IBEW Journeymen Electricians; because, they understand our wages, healthcare, pension benefits, plus safety record are the industries gold standard. The quality of work produced by IBEW member Electricians, without question, achieves a level of craftsmanship not seen with our non-union counterparts. It took each IBEW Journeyman 10,000 hours of on the job and classroom training to understand the many qualifications needed to become a well-rounded electrician.

The IBEW Journeyman’s job description is to distribute and connect the customer’s electrical equipment to the power source. The IBEW Journeyman Electrician installs and maintains all of the various types of electrical systems found in petrochemical, industrial and commercial facilities.  Maintaining the skill level needed to to perform work like this takes investment of education to advance the IBEW Journeyman in their craft.  That is why the IBEW has for decades to so much emphasis into continuing education.
